An extremely rare Philadelphia high chest made of red cedar, circa 1715. Originally made by John Head, one of the earliest documented Philadelphia cabinetmakers. This piece has a bold, arched front stretcher which is fit between turned legs and feet. The sizable cornice conceals a narrow “torus” drawer.
