With an upholstered back and saddle seat, this open arm chair is part of a small group of chairs made circa 1770 in Philadelphia. Inspired by Thomas Chippendale’s 1762 Gentleman and Cabinet-maker’s Director, this chair has a beautiful sweeping arm and richly carved knuckles.
